What does the term “Board-certified Plastic Surgeon” mean? Why does it matter?
Anytime we, as consumers, research our next purchase, vacation, or new restaurant to try, we look for information that shows us that the product is top-quality, that the vacation will be enjoyable, and that the restaurant is well-run. When it comes to medicine, savvy patients look for the right credentials. Regarding plastic surgery, there is no better qualifier than the term “Board-certified Plastic Surgeon.”
Board-certified Plastic Surgeon is the only title for cosmetic plastic surgeons that is recognized by the federal government. Other designations are not overseen by a federal body indicating the completion of surgical residency specialized in plastics.
Preparing for Your Consultation
Beleza aims to establish an unhurried, thorough consultation experience for all patients. Every patient consulting for plastic surgery at Beleza meets with Dr. Wooten at their first visit. To best prepare for your consultation, we ask that every patient fill out their online medical form in advance of their first consultation in the office. Dr. Wooten and her clinical staff, Eva Marie Pope FNP-C and Marianne Abdalah, PA-C, use these forms to help prepare for your in-person consultation. Personal medical history helps them establish the best plan of care for each individual patient and may inform their decision-making process when it comes to surgical plan and pre-operative testing.
Each consultation is customized based on the patient, their needs, and their goals. To make sure that we address all your questions and concerns during your consultation, write them out in a list on paper or on your mobile device. That way, you won’t be leaving the office thinking to yourself, “I forgot to ask them about…”
During your consultation, Dr. Wooten will assess your goals and make a surgical plan designed to achieve them.
