Scar Management After Plastic Surgery

Dr. Wooten’s Physician Assistant reviews some of Beleza’s scar management protocols. These protocols can help to minimize incision scars which may be left behind following certain plastic surgery procedures which entail a longer scar. As Lauren says, “Scars don’t have to be scary,” and we will help you to manage your scars during your recovery period.

What to Avoid

Board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Anna Wooten, and the rest of the Beleza staff pride themselves on providing the finest aesthetic experience in the Pittsburgh region. To ensure that your visit (and your result) is the best it can be, we ask that our patients refrain from taking any and all products that thin the blood prior to any treatment, unless prescribed or otherwise directed by your primary care provider or other doctor.

This policy is designed to ensure your best result by minimizing your chance of bruising or bleeding. These medications may cause bleeding and/or clotting problems, anesthesia interactions and delayed wound healing during/after the procedure. The following is a list of medications, herbs, and supplements to avoid during the four weeks leading up to treatment. Tylenol is permissible.
