Brow Lift

Conveniently located to serve the areas of Pittsburgh, PA

A brow lift is a facial rejuvenation procedure that elevates your eyebrows to restore a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Over time, the eyebrows descend, and we compensate by keeping them lifted, which can cause deep forehead lines. (1) A brow lift softens signs of aging in the forehead, turning back the clock with precise techniques.

Dr. Anna Wooten, F.A.C.S., is a board-certified plastic surgeon at Beleza Plastic Surgery. Dr. Wooten specializes in a “gliding” brow lift technique that ensures a seamless, effortlessly natural result.

Before and After Photos

About Brow Lifts

Because facial skin is thinner and more exposed, it is often among the first regions to show visible signs of aging. The forehead is especially susceptible to the effects of gravity and dynamic expressions, often resulting in sagging and deep lines. (2)

With Dr. Wooten’s brow lift, you can experience benefits such as:

  • Softened Signs of Aging: Brow lifts can effectively address wrinkles and sagging.
  • Elevated Brows: Lifting the brows to a more youthful position improves facial proportions and symmetry.
  • Long-Lasting Results: Dr. Wooten’s techniques encourage long-term stability and structural support.
  • Natural-Looking Enhancements: The gliding brow lift technique minimizes scarring, so it will be almost impossible for people to tell you had a procedure—they’ll likely just think you look refreshed!
  • Boosted Confidence: You will likely feel more confident after your brow lift, as you’ll look years younger.
  • Tailored Solutions: Dr. Wooten personalizes each procedure according to unique concerns and natural anatomy.

Candidates

You may be an ideal candidate for a brow lift if you have noticed the development of skin laxity or other visible signs of aging around or between your eyebrows.

To qualify for your procedure, you should be in good general health and maintain realistic expectations regarding your results. You should also be nonsmoking or willing to quit using nicotine. Dr. Wooten will finalize your candidacy during your personal consultation.

  • Avoid Substance Use: Refrain from consuming any alcohol or nicotine in the weeks leading up to your procedure.

Procedure

Dr. Wooten performs each brow lift on an outpatient basis. When you arrive for your procedure, she will meet with you one last time to reconfirm each of your desired corrections before cleansing your skin. You will then receive general anesthesia, and once you are comfortable, she will begin performing either the gliding brow lift or the endoscopic brow lift.

Gliding Brow Lift

The gliding brow lift is Dr. Wooten’s specialty. This approach can address sagging brows and visible signs of aging without the excessive visible scarring associated with some traditional techniques.

Dr. Wooten places tiny (2-3 mm) incisions within your hairline to access the underlying structures of your forehead. The incisions will be completely hidden by your hair when they heal.

Through these incisions, Dr. Wooten will meticulously release your ligaments and fibers to elevate your eyebrows to a more youthful position before securing them with temporary fine sutures. Gliding browlifts can be performed at Beleza Plastic Surgery under local anesthesia. This means that patients do not have to ‘go to sleep’ under general anesthesia, which spares them the expense and a trip to the surgery center.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

An endoscopic brow lift uses specialized instruments to delicately reposition eyebrow and forehead structures through small incisions. Endoscopic browlifts are appropriate for patients with moderate to severe laxity. This would be determined during your personal consultation with Dr. Wooten.

During an endoscopic browlift, Dr. Wooten will place three small incisions above the forehead, just beyond the hairline. She will then create another two incisions near the temples, also beyond the hairline. (1) Through these incisions, Dr. Wooten will insert tiny endoscopes (long, thin instruments with cameras) as well as other tools to manipulate internal structures. These help visualize your facial muscles and tissues as she uses the tools to lift your forehead and brow tissues. Sutures will be placed to ensure long-lasting results. Endoscopic browlifts are typically performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure, and patients return to the office for their post-operative care.

Recovery

After your brow lift, you may experience some swelling, bruising, or soreness around the treated areas. These effects will subside on their own as you continue to heal, but you may also manage them with prescribed medications and plenty of rest. You may be ready to return to most of your daily activities after one to two weeks, but you will need to avoid any strenuous tasks until Dr. Wooten clears you to return.

Dr. Wooten will provide you with a full set of detailed recovery instructions to help you care for yourself as you heal. You will attend follow-up appointments at the office so that Dr. Wooten can monitor your healing progress.

Brow Lift Results

You will be able to enjoy the results of your brow lift after you have fully healed. You will notice a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance in your upper face. Dr. Wooten’s patients are often pleased with their stunning results and feel a boost of newfound confidence. Because of Dr. Wooten’s precise techniques, results are long-lasting, with many patients seeing benefits from their procedure for at least 10 years.

To maintain your renewed appearance, Dr. Wooten recommends an effective skincare regimen, appropriate neuromodulator injections, and wearing the proper sun protection whenever you plan to be in the sun. Sun protection means using SPF 30+ every day, and using a hat or other protective clothing when appropriate.
