About Renuva® Fat Grafting

Renuva® is an allogenic adipose injectable containing purified donor fat cells. Renuva® conforms to your body’s natural fat, and the donor cells are purified to create an optimal injectable formula. With Renuva, Dr. Wooten can:

Renuva vs. Autologous Fat Transfer

Renuva can restore volume without incisions or excessive downtime. During a traditional autologous fat transfer procedure, Dr. Wooten will first perform liposuction to harvest fat. After harvesting the fat, the fat is processed and then reintroduced into the targeted area. With liposuction, Dr. Wooten can perform a fat transfer to the face, hands, and buttocks to sculpt your figure, enhance your curves, and address signs of aging. Autologous fat transfers require that the patient have sufficient excess fat for harvesting. Renuva, on the other hand, allows patients to circumvent the liposuction aspect of traditional fat transfer procedures. With this off-the-shelf donor fat, even thinner patients can benefit from the natural-looking results that this volumizing treatment offers.

Consultation

During your consultation, Dr. Wooten will ask about your aesthetic goals and examine the areas where you wish to receive enhanced volume. You should arrive at your consultation prepared to discuss your lifestyle and medical history in depth; this helps our team create a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs. We can also recommend additional treatments during your consultation if you have additional goals.

Preparation

Due to Renuva’s minimally invasive nature, the preparation process is typically minimal. To prepare for your Renuva treatment, you will need to:

  • Stop taking blood thinners
  • Refrain from smoking
  • Avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours before and after your treatment

Treatment Process

During your treatment, Dr. Wooten and her team will cleanse your skin and apply a local anesthetic to the treatment area for your comfort. Your nurse injector will then administer the Renuva formula to the area(s) you want to address. The injectable will add natural-looking volume beneath your skin.

The amount of Renuva you receive will depend on the designated treatment areas and your aesthetic goals, which you will discuss during your consultation.

After Your Treatment

After your Renuva treatment, you may experience mild swelling or bruising in the treated areas. While the procedure does not require any significant downtime, you should avoid strenuous activity for at least 24 hours after the injection. Your injector may also recommend that you schedule follow-up appointments to assess the results of your treatment.
